This is a custom
katana made for a variety of specialized practices in several martial
arts ryu-ha. It has the overall appearance of a standard katana,
but houses a shorter blade at 21" in length. The concept behind
the design is to deceive your opponent by allowing your blade to
clear your saya (scabbard) earlier than expected during draw. This
sword abandons the Hollywood rendition of the Ninja sword by keeping
the apparence of a standard katana.
Onibasu katana
uses the through hardened high carbon 1060 carbon steel so it is
highly durable for cutting exercises.
Blade geometry
is simple and straightforward. Matching the appearance of all our
other katana.

This sword is created
as a custom sword for specialized martial arts practices. Using a through
hardened 1060 carbon steel blade and the Mokko Bamboo tsuba (aftermarket),
this sword is unique in the following way:
